There is a tennis court and the club house of the UTC Pfaffing-Vöcklamarkt. The impact against the facade of the building was so powerful that the vehicle broke through the wall of the shower stalls. According to police, the trailer was not registered for traffic.
“It sounded like a gas bottle had burst,” said deputy club chairman Werner Fürthauer, who was still present on the club grounds late in the evening.
Where the tractor hit the facade, members usually like to sit and chat. “Everyone present was just standing somewhere else when it happened. It was very fortunate that nobody was injured,” says Fürthauer in an interview with OÖN. The shower was still being used 15 minutes before the accident.
The clubhouse, which was now in danger of collapsing, had to be supported by the fire brigade with steel ceiling supports. The statics must now be clarified, says the deputy chairman.
It is not yet clear how the club will continue, the damage has been reported to the insurance company. In any case, the Pfaffinger want to finish the championship somehow. Thanks to the fire brigade and a nearby hydrant, the pitches can be provisionally irrigated, it said.
