While Gangl himself attaches importance to the fact that he does not have a non-cancellable five-year contract (as OÖN reported), his management board contract was also questioned at the OMV general meeting.
Contract constellations of three years with the option of a two-year extension are customary internationally. Gangl’s currently valid contract is valid for OÖN-Information for four years plus the option of three years. At the OMV Annual General Meeting (Borealis owns 75 percent of OMV), Gangl’s appointment, after just one and a half years of experience on the Executive Board, was announced that he was the only candidate and that there was no expert opinion on his suitability – as suggested by one questioner. The fact that fixed salary increases were agreed serves the purpose of ensuring market-adequate remuneration.
