The driver of the Porsche had to stop near Sankt Valentin in the direction of Vienna due to a technical defect in the breakdown lane. Right at the height of the sports car, a truck suddenly had a tire burst, causing the vehicle to suddenly steer sharply to the right and crash into the rear of the sports car. The truck then slid around 180 meters along the guardrail and severely damaged it.
A large contingent of emergency services was on the spot within a very short time. The Red Cross team was able to return immediately, since neither driver sustained any injuries. Significant property damage was caused to both vehicles, and around 200 meters of guard rails were also damaged.
Two lanes had to be closed during the clean-up work, resulting in a long traffic jam.
