At around 4:40 p.m., the 19-year-old from Riedau drove his car on the Innviertler Landesstraße in the direction of Riedau and overtook the car of a 24-year-old. He may have completely overlooked the oncoming traffic. The boy crashed his vehicle head-on into a truck. The driver of the overtaken car had already reduced her speed, but she collided with the 19-year-old’s car that had been involved in the accident. For the young Riedauer, any help came too late after the accident.
The truck driver, a 54-year-old from Linz, and the car driver, a 24-year-old from the Ried district, were both injured and taken to the Wels clinic.
