The 609 delegates in the Linz Design Center can decide between the Burgenland governor Hans Peter Doskozil and the Traiskirchen mayor Andreas Babler after the incumbent Pamela Rendi-Wagner declared her withdrawal after coming third in a member survey.
The race for party leadership is considered fairly open. Doskozil took first place in the member survey and also has the majority of country organizations behind it. Babler, on the other hand, is likely to receive a lot of approval from the Vienna State Party, which has strong delegates, and from the women’s organization. One of the decisive factors could be who the majority of the trade unionists choose.
