As reported, the man was sentenced to a partially conditional prison sentence of 21 months (seven unconditionally) in March this year. At the beginning of June he was conditionally released from the Linz prison. According to the interior ministry, a residence status check was initiated for all riot participants who were not Austrian citizens.
Another youth (15) from Afghanistan who took part in the riots and threw firecrackers there was sentenced yesterday. The penalty, conditional on five months, is already final, it said.
