Austria’s children’s and youth climbing elite were guests in climbing hall 6a in Gaflenz at the weekend. Over two days, more than 120 starters climbed for the Austrian championship titles in the categories U12 in lead climbing and U12, U14 and U16 in speed climbing. In addition, an Austria Cup U14 was held in the lead. With Anna-Maria Märzinger (U12 Lead) and Elisa Steindl (U12 Speed), two Upper Austrians also made it onto the podium in third place in this strong field.
For the organizing team of climbing hall 6a, which carried out this championship in cooperation with the Weyer and Waidhofen Alpine Club, the next challenge is on the program next Saturday: the annual Eisenwurzen Championship, which is also the Upper Austrian state championship in the U10 to U18 categories, will take place there.
