“There is no one here who is now thinking about early elections,” says Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) after the regular meeting of the ÖVP federal party executive. Of course, the situation of the SPÖ after the counting failure at the party congress in Linz was an issue. “But the party crisis of the SPÖ must not become a state crisis,” said Stelzer. The ÖVP is the Chancellor and is in government in many federal states. “We are the stabilizing factor in the republic,” says Stelzer. Therefore, the legislative period will be completed with the green coalition partner.
