The Steyr City Museum is offering a special themed tour on Father’s Day, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The motto is “Paris, Monte Carlo, St. Moritz. The Luxurious Travels of Josef and Anna Lamberg-Werndl”. Curator Herta Neiß and her descendant Adelheid Hoyos go in search of clues.

Curator Neiß initially presents the members of the Lamberg family and their connection to the Werndl family. The second part focuses on a special historical document: the diary of Anna Countess von Lamberg, daughter of Josef Werndl. She wrote this diary between 1884 and 1920 for her son Josef. In it she reports on a variety of luxurious journeys, exciting events and interesting personalities. She describes impressions of the famous world exhibition in Paris in 1900, her closeness to nature and her close family ties to her sister Karoline Imhof, who married a close friend of the heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand.

Together, the participants of this themed tour immerse themselves in the travel experiences of the Lamberg and Imhof families, who had all the opportunities of their time open to them due to the rich legacy of Josef Werndl. When the weather is nice, guests can enjoy reading from the diary with a glass of Prosecco or wine from Café Ins Neutor.

Registration is requested: vermittlung@ stadtmuseum-steyr.at or by telephone on 07252/575-1354 or -1356.
