Earlier, the United Kingdom referred to reports of undeclared police stations in the country, classified as “extremely worrying”which the British government described as unacceptable in the context of intimidation of foreign citizens by China or other States.
British police carried out an investigation into repeated allegations of the non-governmental organization for the defense of human rights Safeguard Defenderswhich ensured the operation of police stations in three British locations.
However, the British Minister for Security, Tom Tugendhat, revealed that no indications of illegality by the Chinese state were found: “I can confirm that, to date, they have not identified any evidence of illegal activity on behalf of the Chinese state at these sites.”
