Wrong turn on the Feuerkogel: hikers rescued by helicopter

The two experienced hikers from the Vöcklabruck district (56 and 59 years old) reached the summit of the Feuerkogel from Gasthaus Kreh via the marked hiking trail without any problems.

The women, on the other hand, wanted to take a different route down into the valley. They had a hiker suggest the sparsely marked Jagdsteig over the Pledialm and began the descent in the afternoon. In the area of ​​a crossroads, however, they turned wrong to the west and finally lost the path. Because they could still see their starting point, they tried to climb down the Dürrengraben over rough terrain until they couldn’t go any further because of the steepness of the terrain.

They then informed the mountain rescue service. AThe helicopter of the flight police was also requested, which finally found the two and rescued them from their predicament by means of a V-tow rescue flight.
