The Italian Justice called the guests to Berlusconi’s parties to testify as accused

However, the Milan court accepted a request from Berlusconi’s defense to disable those statements that were provided as witnesses, so they will have to go to court again to testify as accused, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

“This decision is very important because it considers that the statements” of the young women “are unusable due to a formal defect,” explained the defense lawyer, Federico Cecconi, who did not specify whether Berlusconi will testify before the court, adding: “We we reserve that right. “

Last September, the 84-year-old former minister refused to submit to a psychiatric test requested by the courts, which sought to evaluate his health after he repeatedly avoided appearing before the magistrates for medical problems.

During the next few weeks some of the girls who were hired to attend these parties will parade through the court, including Marysthell Polanco, or Barbara Guerra and Alessandra Sorcinelli, who say they are “ready” to tell about everything that happened during those parties at the town of Ancora de Berlusconi, who would have called them after testifying previously.

Berlusconi is prosecuted for the Ruby-ter case, the scandal for organizing sex parties with minors, known as “bunga bunga” – a term of uncertain origin that defines a kind of harem of naked girls – in his luxurious residence near Milan.

Berlusconi, famous for his dissipated life, is tried for witness tampering and false testimony along with 28 other people, as he was accused of paying some of the young women who participated in his controversial evenings in exchange for keeping silence.

Several of the trial hearings had to be postponed this year because the former first was hospitalized several times for heart problems or the sequelae of Covid-19.

This judicial process is part of the so-called Ruby case, the pseudonym used by the dancer Karima El Mahroug, with whom Berlusconi would have had sexual relations when she was 17 years old, also allegedly benefiting from the distribution of about 11.6 million dollars that would have been used to buy the silence of the witnesses of the holidays in 2010 and 2014.

The alleged relationship between Berlusconi and Ruby gave rise to three parallel trials, in the first the magnate was accused, although finally acquitted, of extortion and child prostitution; the second, in relation to a series of personalities who would have hired the girls for their parties; and the last one, of a crime of false testimony bribery of witnesses, among them the pianist of the revelries, Danilo Mariani, but he was acquitted last month.
