On Thursday evening, a Railjet towards Munich drove onto a track near Teisendorf (Berchtesgadener Land district), where another Railjet was already waiting to continue towards Salzburg, as the Freilassing federal police announced on Friday. There were 150 passengers in the incoming train and 86 in the stationary train. No one was injured. The train driver had made an emergency stop and the train had come to a standstill about 80 meters away from the waiting train. The railway line was closed for almost an hour. This led to train cancellations and delays. Both trains were able to continue their journey.
The police are investigating how this incident could have happened. According to initial findings, the signal system was disrupted at this time.
