Tolls increased: how were the rates?

It is the first increase of the year, after the government establishes that they are updated twice a year and not four.

He Executive power decided to authorize an increase in the price of tolls for June, within the framework of the new adjustment scheme promoted by the administration led by President Luis Lacalle Pou, which went from allowing four updates to two, with which the next increase is expected to arrive in December.

With the updated values, something that had already happened at the borders, the price in the category cars and trucks of electronic tolls went from 122.5 pesos to 134.46 pesos, with an increase of 11.96 pesos; while the cash and Sucive rate was updated by 10 pesos, reaching 170 pesos, as is the case with tractors without a semi-trailer and buses with up to 25 passengers.

Meanwhile, those vehicles or cargo equipment with up to three axles and six wheels they will have to pay 199.82 pesos, while the cash and Sucive rate was 255 pesos. Also, for the category of buses with more than 25 passengers and vehicles or cargo equipment with three axles and more than six wheels, they will have to pay 199.82 pesos and 255 pesos.

Finally, vehicles or cargo equipment with four or more axles they must pay 407.97 pesos and 525 pesos, respectively; and tri-train cargo vehicles or equipment they will have to pay from now on more than 682.73 pesos and 875 pesos, as appropriate.

With the new scheme, official vehicles pay

After the change promoted last month by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), had agreed to keep prices frozen until the middle of this year, the cars and trucks of municipalities, ministries and public entities will have to pay the corresponding fee, with what is expected for Uruguay an extra collection of about a million dollars a year.

However, those official vehicles that are owned or registered by the MTOP, the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of the Interior, in addition to those to whom the Executive Power deems appropriate to extend the exemption from payment, for which they will have to have an electronic identification device.
