Ewald Tatar hasn’t slept much since Wednesday. He was completely scratched. To do this, he looked up at the sky countless times and called up weather apps. Yesterday, the organizer of the Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf took stock with a deep breath.
Conclusion after four days of the festival with 91 bands, around 200,000 spectators and initially heavy rain: “Every day I just looked at how great the atmosphere was and how much fun they were having in the bad weather. Many came to me and had thanks, I really take my hat off to that,” says the 56-year-old.
In fact, the 17th edition of Nova Rock was lucky in disguise. Burgenland was the scene of heavy thunderstorms, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. Tatar: “The community of Parndorf was flooded twice, and it’s only ten minutes away from us.” The concert site was paved daily with vast quantities of wood chips and straw, which were then removed with the help of tractors.

The celebrated headliner of the last day of the festival at Nova Rock on Saturday was the German rock band “Die Ärzte”. The emotional conclusion in front of 20,000 people was a Falco tribute concert. Large parts of the original band with bandleader Thomas Rabitsch played Falco-Hadern, stars like Drew Sarich, Roman Gregory, Georgij Makazaria and Ana Milva Gomes sang.
