In both countries, the song is currently number one in a version by the two rappers Ski Aggu (19) from Berlin and Joost Klein (25) from the Netherlands.
In May, Ski Aggu published song snippets of their jointly created “Friesenjung” dance version on TikTok and asked Otto Waalkes to release the rights to the song, which he granted a little later. The two and a half minute long party song is reminiscent of the Dutch gabber techno of the 1990s with a fast beat and catchy lyrics.
The rappers have alienated the iconic Otto refrain by machine. “I’m very flattered because for me, any parody is the truest form of worship,” says Waalkes. He himself has 370,000 followers on TikTok.
