In the context of the drought, the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries extended for 30 days the permit for cattle to graze on the side of the roads.
Due to the drought that does not give respite to the agricultural sector, the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) communicated the extension by 30 more days to allow grazing en route because the producers ran out of feed for the cattle.
Since the end of December 2022, MGAP decreed the possibility that producers can leave graze their cattle on public roads, mainly on the routes and neighboring roads. The resolution indicated that the situation of the water deficit generated, and still generates, “shortage of pastures, prairies and forage reserves” and that this decision was made “by virtue of the risk of loss of livestock and spread of diseases”.
The rains did not reach so that the fodder recovers and the cattle can graze in the fields, for which the General Directorate of Livestock Services once again extended the permit to graze animals on public roads.
