The senator and former member of the National Party, Gustavo Penadesadded a new statement against him in the case that investigates him for sexual exploitation of minors.
This is a minor under 16 years of age, represented by the Legal Office of the University of the Republic (udelar), who declared in the last hours before the prosecutor for Sexual Offenses, Alicia Ghione. Since the investigation began, There are already 9 people who have testified against Penadés for sexual abuse.
The prosecutor in the case believes that in the next few days, 3 new testimonies could still be added against the legislator, who no longer has parliamentary privileges after the unanimous vote in the Senate to remove them. Of the 9 complaints so far, there are 8 that have not prescribed.

After the Senate unanimously voted for the impeachment of Penadés, the judicial course of the investigation for sexual abuse of minors would have as its first measure the advance declaration of the victims, something that was requested by the prosecutor Ghione.
The victims will declare under a modality to which the defenses of Penadés will not have access and Sebastian Mauvezin, the History teacher at the Military Lyceum, accused of being the intermediary between the minors and Penadés. The legislator is investigated by Justice for a crime that includes penalties of between 2 and 12 years in prison.
The message that Mauvezín sent to his former students of the Military Lyceum
