Summer will begin next Wednesday, predicts Geosphere Austria. First of all, Friday will bring some sun, but then there will be quite widespread cumulus clouds as well as some showers and thunderstorms. The first cells are already forming in the morning and in the morning in the west, during the day the focus of the thunderstorm is likely to be in the south-east of the country. Away from and between the showers, the sun always comes through. The wind is generally picking up and blowing moderately to briskly from west to north. The morning temperatures are eight to 14 degrees, the maximum daily temperatures reach 19 to 26 degrees.
The weather conditions will not change much on Saturday. Once again the sunny weather character predominates, but during the day the cumulus clouds will soon start to form again and as a result local showers or thunderstorm cells will form over the mountains and hills of the country, especially in the center and south. With increasing air pressure, it is already much more stable in the west. The wind will blow moderate to brisk from West to North. The morning temperatures are nine to 15 degrees, the maximum daily temperatures are 21 to 27 degrees, with the highest values in the Rhine Valley.
The temperatures are rising
The sun usually shines on Sunday. During the course of the day, some cumulus clouds will form in the eastern half of the country, but only isolated, partly thunderstorm showers, most likely over the mountains and hills. The wind is often weak. The morning temperatures are eight to 15 degrees, the daily maximum temperatures are 24 to 31 degrees, it gets warmest in Vorarlberg.
In most of the country, the sunny weather character will prevail from morning to night on Monday. A few loose cloud fields are most likely to pass through in the very north. The formation of cumulus clouds only starts with a delay, even in the vicinity of the main Alpine ridge. Except for a few shower cells in the afternoon or brief warm thunderstorms, it will also remain largely dry there. The wind is often weak. The morning temperatures start at 9 to 17, the daily highs reach 26 to 32 degrees, with the higher temperatures in the western half of Austria.
On Tuesday, the sun will again prevail throughout Austria, the temperatures will rise rapidly and strongly everywhere. However, the air stratification becomes more unstable from the west and north. Especially in the evening, powerful cumulus clouds can form in some regions, then the risk of thunderstorms increases significantly. Locally violent thunderstorm cells must be expected. Before that, the wind will be weak to moderate. The day already starts with eleven to 19 degrees, 28 to 33 degrees are possible in the afternoon.
