The controversy between Da Silva, Antía and the Conaprole union escalates

The union filed a criminal complaint against the mayor of Maldonado and the nationalist senator before the Prosecutor’s Office.

This week the Association of Workers and Employees of Conaprole (AOEC) presented a criminal complaint to the mayor of the department at the Maldonado Prosecutor’s Office, Enrique Antiaand the senator of the National Party (PN), sebastian da silvaand the legislator did not remain silent.

Tuesday was the day that AOEC would present the complaint against the politicians for defamation and insults against Antía and Da Silva, and also for incitement to hatred in the case of the senator. However, from the association they forgot that the complaints in the Prosecutor’s Office are presented in turn and they had to return the next day.

Without wasting time, Da Silva took the opportunity to attack, once again, AOEC by mocking the mistake and, on the other hand, questioned the fact that the complaint was made in Maldonado and not in the department of San José, where the conflict actually takes place. “Today they could not make the complaint because they omitted something as logical as requesting an appointment at the Prosecutor’s Office. Nor is it understood that the trial is in Maldonado. The strike was in Saint Josephand our statements in rock. It is clear that what they are looking for ”, tweeted the legislator.

In this sense, the senator clarified during Tuesday’s session in the Senate that, if necessary, he would lift the privileges to be tried correctly and remarking that this case “between work culture and union abuse”. “Today the Conaprole union is suing us. This is between the culture of work and national production and union abuse. Always on the road, never at the inn,” Da Silva published on his social media.

The origin of the conflict

The repeated strikes by the association of the dairy company generated, not only economic turmoil, but in the political sphere they also generated criticism. The first of them was the white senator, Sebastián Da Silva, who published a harsh message against the union on his social networks. “What you have to do to that union is declare war, moral warthe war of the working people, the war of the people who make an effort, because they have no authority to bring to their knees the dairy farmers who have suffered the worst drought in the last 100 years,” he tweeted.

To this, he added that milk producers are taking out credits “so that later they come Full-bellied unionists earning six-figure salaries to stop a company just because an official instead of working at one counter has to work at another”. Faced with these statements, the union decided to initiate a criminal trial for inciting violence, as confirmed to the press.

The white senator redoubled the bet and answered through his social networks. “We must declare moral war on the Conaprole Union if he maintains the absurd attitude of harming the company. This and everything said in this regard will not have any protection on my part from my constitutional privileges. It is between working people and those who do not let work. See you in court”, he tweeted.

To the mayor of Maldonado, Enrique AntiaFor his part, he has to stand up for a statement that, according to the union, was not true, referring to the dismissal of a worker due to fraud. From the association they emphasize that these types of statements that are false, remain in society and reproduce false imaginaries.
