The woman who was “resurrected” during his funeral last week in Ecuador now officially dead. June 13 an old woman woke up inside a coffin after five hours of wake.
It was reported this Saturday by the newspaper El Comercio, which states that the death of Bella Montoya, 76, was certified for the second time by the “Martin Icaza” hospital in Babahoyo. The same one where she was hospitalized for the first time on June 9 after suffering a heart attack and where she hastily and erroneously declared her death on June 13.
Now, the deceased is being veiled again in the same place where the surprising event was recorded, but there is another problem: his son Barbera Montoya, 45, assured that does not have the resources to pay for a vault where the remains of his mother rest, for which he expects support from the authorities, wrote La Voz.

A video released on the Twitter network showed Montoyain her already open coffin and breathing with difficulty after the prolonged confinement, while two men assist her, the AFP agency reported today.
With the “left hand hit the box and the hand beat”said the woman’s son, Gilbert Balberán, who on Friday had to manage the donation of the coffin due to lack of money. “They even gave us a death certificate”, expressed Balberán in a video broadcast in local media. The press echoed the unusual news with headlines that celebrated the “resurrection” of the old woman.
“My mom is on oxygen. Her heart is stable. The doctor pinched her hand and she reacted; they tell me that this is good because it means that she is reacting little by little“added the man in statements published by the newspaper El Universo.
Why was she left for dead the first time?
On Friday Montoya was declared deceased in the Martín Icaza public sanatorium in the coastal town of Babahoyo (southwest).
Montoya entered that hospital “with a presumptive diagnosis of a cerebrovascular accident and had a cardiorespiratory arrest without responding to resuscitation maneuvers, for which the doctor on duty confirmed his death,” admitted the Ministry of Health in a statement.
“Little by little I am assimilating what happened. Now I only ask that my mother’s health improves. I want her alive and by my side,” said Balberán, who had seen the woman on Sunday in the intensive care area.
The health portfolio added that “to analyze this case in depth” it formed a National Technical Committee and that “it will initiate a medical audit to establish responsibilities in the face of the supposed confirmation of death.”
The elderly woman, who would have suffered a catalepsy according to local media, remains intubated and with a reserved diagnosis in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the ministry said, adding that it will “supervise” the patient’s care
