The 28-year-old scored 6,023 points, victory went to Germany’s Carolin Schäfer with 6,369. For Mayr from Ebensee, it was the first heptathlon since August 2021 at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Since then she has been struggling with problems that were only diagnosed and treated late as a tear in the tendon on the ischial tuberosity.
Mayr holds the Austrian record with 6,591 points. Her 6,023 points are the best performance by an Austrian this year. In Götzis, Isabel Posch scored 6,021, Chiara-Belinda Schuler 5,916. Sarah Lagger scored 6.010 in Desenzano. Ivona Dadic has not yet completed a heptathlon. For the season highlight World Championships in Budapest in August it will be tight with a red-white-red participation in the all-around.
