In the area popular with hikers, the fire was accidentally discovered by walkers. A roughly one kilometer long extinguishing line had to be laid under adverse conditions. The five alarmed weirs pumped 30,000 liters of extinguishing water to the source of the fire, the Bad Ischl fire brigade reported.
In addition to the shuttle service, the 73 emergency services set up a shuttle service with the tank fire engines. In order to fight the fire thoroughly, they dug into the ground with great effort using pure muscle power. “Fire out” could be given in the midday hours. The cause of the fire is not known for the time being, the Bad Ischl fire brigade announced.
