It is a fixed point in the Rieder music year – the gala concert of the Rieder Lions Club. On Sunday, June 25 (7 p.m., Jahnturnhalle), the Upper Austrian Mozart Ensemble under the direction of Julia Kürner will be headed by a special conductor: Johannes Meissl, violinist and Vice Rector of the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Born in Rieder, he conducts the ensemble, and the pianist Johannes Wilhelm from the Innviertel can be heard as a soloist at the piano. Two special musical delicacies are on offer: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 for piano and orchestra and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor.
Johannes Meissl was born in Ried in 1961 and received his first violin lessons at the music school in Ried. He is a soloist in various chamber music ensembles and has been Vice Rector at the Music University in Vienna since 2019. The pianist who loves Ried

Johannes Wilhelm – he comes from the Innviertel community of Burgkirchen – studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg after attending BORG Ried. He is in demand internationally as a pianist, has played on concert stages in many countries and is a regular guest at concerts in Ried. Wilhelm is also a member of the Lions Club Ried.
