Alejandro Vinetz took over as president of the Bevsa

Counter Alexander Vinetz took over as the new president of the Electronic Stock Exchange of Uruguay (Bevsa) and will hold office for the term 2023-2025, according to the result of the elections in the shareholders’ meeting, which elected him as a replacement for Augustin Tafernaberry.

The Board of Directors will be headed by the public accountant graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), seconded by Daniella Lanza (BROU) in the first vice presidency and Maria Jose Villar (Citibank) in the second vice presidency. Furthermore, Tafernaberry himself, Gonzalo Bava, José Luis Puig and Marcelo Oten will complete the list of the Uruguayan stock market.

Commenting on his feelings, Vinetz highlighted “the renewed enthusiasm and the same interest as always for wanting to meet the objectives set from the beginning of this organization”. Within this framework, it was shown in the search of “satisfying the needs of all our clients, permanently improving our integrated management system and contributing to the development of our personnel”.

Regarding his career, the brand new president joined BBVA Uruguay in 2001 where he was director of Risks and since 2013 he has been the financial director at the same institution. At the same time, since 2019 he has been a member of Bevsa’s Board of Directors.

Previously, he was senior auditor at PwC, chief accountant at Bank of New York, administration manager at Banco Exterior Argentina and assistant secretary of the Banking Standards Commission of the Argentine Association of Banks, where he also served as alternate secretary. .

Barbieri also highlighted that the new management period was added to other recent modifications, such as the move of its offices to the World Trade Center Montevideo business complex, “with the purpose of evolving towards a new concept of work”.
