“It was one of my heart projects”says Markus Vogtenhuber about his debut work “Motte Manfred wants to go to the moon”. The author and chairman of the citizen lists handed over three copies of his children’s book to the Gampern municipal library.

Published by Buchschmiede-Verlag, Vogtenhuber tells the story of a small, short-sighted but all the more adventurous city moth on 20 softcover pages, who sets out to follow her dream. Manfred’s big goal: He wants to find the moon, which he only knows from stories so far, and he wants to prove to everyone that it really exists. Due to light pollution in cities and communities, it is increasingly difficult for nocturnal animals to find their way around.

“It was important to me to convey something with the story, but of course the focus is on having fun reading it”, says Vogtenhuber. The co-author is no stranger to ex-MP and consumer protection chairwoman Daniela Holzinger-Vogtenhuber. A young Ukrainian artist provided the illustrations and brought Manfred to life.

It’s available in well-stocked bookstores “Motto Manfred wants to go to the moon” as a softcover and e-book – and the book can of course be borrowed free of charge from the Gampern municipal library.
