Because the Bad Aussee hospital has an expiry date, it suffers from a shortage of doctors. The surgical department is particularly affected. According to the Styrian health fund, their operation is guaranteed at least over the summer because additional doctors could be found for this time. In addition, interdisciplinary cooperation is being promoted internally, thereby relieving the burden on surgery. If there are still staff shortages, it will not be possible to avoid relocating surgery to the Rottenmann site.

As is well known, the Bad Aussee hospital will be closed and converted into a health and specialist center as soon as the new leading hospital in Stainach-Pürgg opens (probably at the beginning of 2028). The new hospital also replaces the Rottenmann and Schladming locations.

Those responsible in Styria assume that the new leading hospital will have a significantly greater number of doctors, because a new and modern location offers significantly more medical options.
