Refugee Ukrainians have free access to the labor market and, in view of the shortage of skilled workers, should be increasingly integrated into the world of work. Many companies value well-trained employees as welcome support in their operations.
A job exchange for displaced persons from the Ukraine and those entitled to asylum took place at the Grieskirchen labor market service last week. They were brought together with well-known companies from the Grieskirchen district. In total, more than 70 refugees, displaced persons and immigrants were looking for a job and took the opportunity to talk to seven companies. The post office, the companies Kröswang, Guschlbauer Backwaren, the Eurothermenresort Bad Schallerbach, the Gasthaus Waldschänke, the company Stroissmüller and the Klinikum Austria – health group Bad Schallerbach were represented.
The AMS provided each company with an interpreter and an AMS consultant and explained AMS services such as work trials, integration grants, job-related qualifications and course support. In many one-to-one interviews, the motivated and committed job seekers were able to find out about the companies and their current vacancies and submit their application documents and CVs. Individual employment commitments and employment relationships could be fixed immediately, in many cases applications follow via the companies’ job portals and further interviews in the companies.
“This success belongs to everyone involved. Companies and job seekers, employees and network partners have worked together,” says Franz-Reinhold Forster, head of the AMS in Grieskirch.
