The widening of the B156 is part of a multi-year commitment decided by the Upper Austrian state parliament. The federal road is currently only 6.2 meters wide, too little for a road of this category and not ideal for the high proportion of heavy traffic, says FPÖ member of parliament David Schiessl. That is why the infrastructure department of FP regional councilor Günther Steinkellner has set itself the goal of widening the road to 7.5 metres.

Another part of this project is the construction of accompanying footpaths and cycle paths, which have already been requested by the affected communities. These footpaths and cycle paths should run parallel to the B156 and connect to the existing connection in the village of Gundertshausen (Eggelsberg). The municipality of St. Georgen am Fillmannsbach is building a left turn to open up future business development areas. The existing bus stops in the towns of Angern and Unterhaunsberg will also be rebuilt.
