The world is shocked by the death of five people aboard the mini titan submarineon a journey to the depths where rest the remains of the titanic. In this context, many users on Twitter were surprised by a publication that predicted the tragedy long before.

“I have an idea for a sequel to Titanic (the 1997 film)”, posted a user in September 2022 and detailed a plot with many similarities to what would end up happening. The original tweet cites another, a story that recounts the film material obtained by a past exploration of the company Ocean Gate.

In his post, the user @Phineas, explained that the film would show a luxury submarine full of millionaires that crashes while touring the wreckage of the Titanic. The resemblance to what would end up happening almost a year later was not lost on people on Twitter, who shared more than 8 thousand times his publication and they gave him more than 23 thousand likes.

The company that owns the Titan mini-submarine confirmed the death of the five crew members, hours after the limit time of oxygen contained in the vessel. In a statement, OceanGate said the lives of the passengers on the Titanic-bound submarine “sadly have been lost.”

The US Coast Guard says the wreckage found “is consistent with a catastrophic loss of chamber pressure” and confirm a submarine implosion due to the pressure the submersible was under at the bottom of the ocean. The five passengers who were going to see the remains of the Titanic “probably died quickly, without suffocation or suffering.”
