The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the Schenkenfelden municipality, when the man from the Freistadt district on the L1499 left the road in a slight bend and fell into the ditch.
He suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to Freistadt Hospital by rescue workers. A breathalyser test revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.86, after which his driver’s license was taken away.
