The Central Bank tenders bills for .6 billion

He Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) will search the market for up to 11,600 million pesos with three tenders for bills of monetary regulation (LRM) for terms ranging from 28 to 168 days.

This Monday, at 2:00 p.m., the first title in pesos for 5,800 million pesos -155 million dollars, at today’s value-, with integration that same day and with a term of 28 days. Of that total, 1,160 million pesos will be non-competitive placements.

On Wednesday there will be another adjudication, also at 2:00 p.m.: a title will be tendered for 2,500 million pesos, equivalent to about 66 million dollars, with integration that same day and with a term of 84 days. Of this total, 500 million pesos are considered non-competitive.

On Friday, meanwhile, a title will be tendered for 3.3 billion pesos –88 million dollars– with integration that same day and with a maturity period of 168 days. Of this total, 660 million pesos will be considered non-competitive placements.

Next week there will be another three BCU tenders for a total amount of 12,500 million pesos, for terms between 28 days and one year.

In its last tender last week, the Central Bank placed 1-year bills in pesos for 8,366 million pesos on Thursday, yielding 10.82%. The offer for the operation was 8,400 million pesos and the demand was 8,812 million pesos.

While last Tuesday, in a longer-term auction (2 years) the BCU achieved a demand much higher than the offer. The entity offered 3,600 million pesos, the demand was 6,433 million pesos of which 3,619 million pesos were accepted, yielding 10.56%.
