The Chamber of Deputies will discuss the censorship promoted by the Broad Front against the Interior Minister on Tuesday.

The support for the Herrerista minister failed after a marathon questioning in which his explanations about what is perceived as an increase in insecurity in the country —and homicides, in particular— were not satisfactory even for the broad front —which promoted the interpellation— nor for Town meeting, that he did not accompany Heber with his vows.
For this reason, and at the impulse of the opposition, the motion of no confidence against the minister will be debated, which seeks to push him to step aside from his position at the head of the Interior. About, Sebastian Andujar, President of the Chamber of Deputies, told Underlined that they hope “it will be a session where we can get positive things (…) everything is said when you really vote, but I am convinced that censorship will not prosper.”
On the other hand Gonzalo Civila, representative of the Broad Front, affirmed that the proposal made by his political force is “consistent” with the resolution adopted by the Chamber of Deputies, which “disapproved of the minister’s management, said that the very promises that the government made in security matter, there is a very serious situation”. In this sense, he added that the position of the leftist coalition is clear.
For his part, and in line with the opinion of the ruling party, the Colorado deputy Conrad Rodriguez, He affirmed that he believes that the votes for the censure of the minister will not be there.
Delgado’s defense of Heber
The Secretary of the Presidency and a member of the same sector of the National Party, Álvaro Delgado, He was another who supported Minister Heber and assured that the coalition parties “are not going to vote for no confidence.” Although he clarified that he was surprised by the position of the Cabildo Abierto after the questioning, he pointed out that the support for the head of the Interior is confirmed.
Regarding the actions carried out by the hierarch, he stressed: “We know that much remains to be done, but thefts have decreased significantly compared to previous governments, thefts and rustling have decreased significantly.” However, he admitted: “With the issue of homicides there is a lot to work on, nobody can cover the sun with one hand, we are not denying reality”.
In this line, he questioned the motion of censure of the Broad Front. “It was expected. They are the same ones who for more than ten years defended the management of Eduardo Bonomi and now they ask for censorship. These are the rules of the game, ”he sentenced about the crossings with the opposition.
