The FP parliamentary group in the municipal council failed with its application to enact a new planning area for the Leiner area. Instead, a resolution was passed to Transport Councilor Günther Steinkellner (FP), which asked the state to examine whether the traffic situation at the “bottleneck” Leiner crossing could be improved.

City Councilor David Binder (FP) defended the application. The aim is to prevent opportunities for a better traffic solution at the Leiner crossing from being wasted. “A new planning area is not the right way for this,” responded Andreas Löhr (SPÖ). “It’s a federal highway, so it’s not the city but the state that’s responsible.” However, one should examine the need for action. Deputy Mayor Elisabeth Kölblinger (VP) welcomed a resolution to Steinkellner, which was passed with 31:4 votes.
