UTE launched an energy efficiency plan that will reach up to 125,000 SMEs

Within the framework of a working breakfast organized by the Association of Marketing Managers of Uruguay (ADM) This Tuesday, July 4, the president of the joint venture, Silvia Emaldiannounced the launch of the Smart Plan, which seeks to provide access to efficient rates and reduce the costs of electricity consumption for a total of up to 125,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).

As of July 5, all these companies will be able to enter the website of the autonomous entity to find out about the application conditions and to be able to verify in a personalized simulator the convenience of associating with the proposal that will begin to be implemented in the course of the current month.

The instrument contemplates that for 20 hours, from Monday to Friday, SMEs will be able to reduce their electricity consumption costs, while on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, the rate price that will be applied to them will be lower.

According to Emaldi, the companies eligible for the Smart Plan must have an average of 900 kW/h of consumption per monthand that have less than 40 kilowatts of power.

On the other hand, Emaldi highlighted the “milestones” of his management in front of the audience, such as the electrification process of all homes in the national territoryand the reduction of the impact on family and company rates.

In turn, he highlighted other achievements, such as the completion of the Electric Routewhich increased the charging points for vehicles of this type along national highways, which plans to have a charger every 50 kilometers based on an investment of 5 million dollars.

“In the country, after the pandemic, the use of electrical energy is increasing in all sectors,” said Emaldi, a situation that occurs in a context where due to the current water emergency, product of a prolonged drought in the last three years make the power plants of Río Negro and the Salto Grande Binational Hydroelectric Plant They have very little energy production.
