According to information provided by OSE, today the total consumption of water in Montevideo and the metropolitan area was 512,726 cubic meters, leaving the volume of the dam at 1,121,711 cubic meters.

According to the data, the chloride and sodium levels jumped again in all the pumping lines that supply the capital and its surroundings. While MSP established as maximum values allowed 720 mg/l of chloride and 440 mg/l of sodiumthese were again widely exceeded.
In the pumping line 4 that supplies the center of the capital of the country, the measurement of the daily average of chloride reached 785mg/l and the 468mg/l of sodium. In the pumping line 5 that supplies water to the western zone of Montevideo and surroundings, the chloride reached 721mg/l and sodium to 433mg/l. In turn, in the pump line 6 that supplies the east of the capital and its surroundings, the daily chloride records were 773mg/l and those of sodium 461mg/l.
The MSP assures that “the water has not changed its characteristics”
The Minister of Public Health, Karina Randoassured in a press conference that “water has not changed its characteristics” with respect to three weeks ago, when the precautions for drinking OSE water were reported, according to the risk group to which the person belongs.
However, Rando assured that, from the recent increases in salinity in the water, he does not have answers to give regarding what the next step to be followed by the portfolio will be.
The doctor assures that OSE told her that the increase in chlorides and sodium would be of a “transitory” nature, but that if not, the conditions should be changed and new recommendations given to the population.
