The anticipation of those involved is palpable: Tomorrow, Friday, July 7, at 1 p.m., the 2023 state fire service competition will officially open. This year, thousands of firefighters from all over the country are showing their skills in Aspach, more precisely in the idyllic surroundings of the bathing lake in Wildenau. Numerous hands and heads have prepared this competition over the past few months in order to be able to create a worthy stage for the traditional state fire brigade competition.
The Aspach, Migelsbach, Wasserdobl and Wildenau fire brigades were particularly active. After all, the competition groups should find ideal conditions. “The spectators, guests and cheerers play an important role. They are just as important as in any other top sport”says District Fire Brigade Commander Josef Kaiser.
An audience is therefore expressly desired! The competition groups do their best, fighting for every second. “They train hard and time-consuming, sometimes for a whole year. So join the excitement, keep your fingers crossed and motivate!” The competition will open tomorrow, Friday, at 1 p.m. The first competitions of the active and youth groups start at 1.30 p.m. The competition continues on Saturday morning, starting at 6.30 a.m. or 7 a.m. respectively. No wonder, with so much interest: more than 1000 starts have been registered for the active participants alone.
The parallel starts, where the best groups compete against each other, are particularly popular. On Saturday, from 9 a.m., there will be the first parallel start in silver, from 1 p.m. the women will compete in bronze, from 1.15 p.m. the other groups.
There is also a marquee: the Trattnachtaler play during the day and the band on Friday evenings “Cheers”. There is also a fan mile with many exhibitors.
The best groups of the district competition
144 youth and 134 active competition groups competed in this year’s fire department district competition, this year in Uttendorf. The district competition is considered a dress rehearsal for the state competition, which will take place tomorrow in Aspach.
