SOS Children’s Villages gets a branch in Ebensee

Groundbreaking ceremony for the future residential group

From autumn 2024, the SOS Children’s Village Altmünster in Ebensee will operate a residential group for eight to ten young people between the ages of eight and 15 and a team of five teachers. The groundbreaking for the project, in which the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund is involved, took place on Tuesday.

“Our site development process has created new needs,” says SOS Children’s Village director Gerhard Pohl. “But experience shows us that a village with 80 to 90 children has reached its limit. That’s why we decided on the new location in Ebensee. There are sufficient school places, good connections to the public transport network and lively club life. “

“I’m happy about the SOS Children’s Village branch in our community,” says Mayor Sabine Promberger (SPÖ). “I hope that the children and young people will find a home with us, so to speak.”
