Hermes Tarigo was transferred to Montevideo by Interpol to testify for the death of Argentine Gerardo Alter, a member of the MLN.
The retired colonel Hermes Tarigo, was extradited by the Italian Justice and transferred by Interpol from Rome to Montevideo to testify before the Uruguayan Justice on Thursday morning for the death of the Argentine Gerardo Moises Altermember of National Liberation Movement-Tupamaros (MLN-T).
Tarigo found himself with a “red” notice from Interpol and He had been a fugitive from Justice since October 2011., when he had been summoned to prosecute him as a co-perpetrator of Alter’s murder. The 82-year-old soldier appeared before the 27th shift criminal judge, Silvia Uriostewho is investigating his responsibility for the death of Alter, on August 19, 1973.
