Fire brigade competition: Bad Mühllacken is crowned state winner

With 29.39 seconds in the fire-fighting attack – the part of the competition in which the aim is to lay a fire-fighting pipe made of several hoses from a fictitious stream to a fictitious fire object in the shortest possible time (and if possible without making any mistakes) – Bad Mühllacken was able to not deliver his best times already shown this year. Because there are no mistakes, the group Bad Mühllacken 1 is ahead of Schweinsegg-Zehetner 1 (Ternberg, Steyr-Land). Although she was able to implement the plan in 28.98 seconds without any errors, she was behind Bad Mühllacken in the subsequent relay race with 49.95 seconds over the 400 meters (49.14 seconds). The competition group St. Martin im Mühlkreis 2 (Rohrbach district) secured third place in bronze with 30 error-free seconds in the fire-fighting attack and 50.55 seconds in the relay race.

The field of women’s teams that started at the 59th state fire service competition is (still) more manageable. 17 groups competed in bronze, the women’s competition group Julbach 1 (district Rohrbach) was able to assert itself – for the tenth time. The women from Julbach completed the fire-fighting attack without errors in 36.06 seconds, and the 400-meter relay race in 61.14 seconds. This puts the Mühlviertler women ahead of the women’s competition groups from Unterstetten (Grieskirchen district) and Pimpfing (Schärding district).

Silver counts more – but bronze is faster

Even if the competition in silver represents the greater challenge for the groups (in bronze the individual functions that the 9 group members occupy are fixed – in silver they are drawn by lot, which means that every group member must be able to fill any function at any time): In the competition system of the fire brigades themselves, the bronze competition is considered more exciting because the faster times are achieved here,

Which explains why “only” times of more than 30 seconds can be found in the extinguishing attack in silver again this year. Tragwein 1 (Freistadt district) took the lead with 37.26 seconds in the firefighting attack and 51.20 seconds in the relay, followed by Ebersegg 1 (Steyr-Land) with 35.18 and 54.02 seconds respectively and Steindorf 1 (Vöcklabruck ) with 37.36 and 52.39 seconds.

The women’s starting field in silver was limited to 8 groups – Bad Mühllacken was also able to assert itself without errors with 50.60 seconds in the fire-fighting attack and 59.47 in the relay race. Followed by Liebenstein 2 and Windhaag near Freistadt.

The youth showed up too

In the bronze category A, the youth group St. Martin im Mühlkreis (Rohrbach district) was able to take the lead, followed by Guggenberg 1 (Vöcklabruck district) and Bad Mühlacken 1 (Urfahr area). Allerheiligen-Lebing 1 took first place in silver ahead of Winden-Windegg 1 (both in the Perg district) and Bad Mühllacken 1 (Urfahr area).
