The former mayor of Montevideo and former presidential candidate for the 2019 elections for the Broad Front (FA), Daniel Martinezreappeared publicly in long hill and fired heavy ammunition against the current government by assuring that it won said elections with “lies and hate”.

The words pronounced by the former mayor at a press conference took place within the framework of a party event headed by the mayor of cannelloni, Yamandu Orsi, in the city of Melo. For Martinez, President Luis Lacalle Pou promised a “number of things” that were not fulfilled later.

At the same time, pointed out that “hate” was present throughout the entire electoral campaignwhere “we believed that a fairly respectful society was not going to allow the hate campaign to enter”, as well as “people who seem to live to attack, slander and demonize those who think differently”, he said.

Martínez indicated that he is “trying to contribute”, but “not out of bitterness”, since “it seems that some” do not want “a society of understanding and respect”but from “not responding to hatred, trying to discuss ideas” and “being close to people without arrogance, there is no owner of the truth,” he concluded.

Orsi: the intern of the Broad Front “is moved”

In the act, Orsi maintained that the inmate of the FA “is moved”and that this means that people find themselves “wanting to decide between the options that are going to be presented to them,” he said.

For the Canarian leader, the “not so marked” advantage that the surveys give him over the mayor of Montevideo, Caroline Cossemeans that the left-wing coalition “is considering itself well on the field.”

On the other hand, he understands that the repercussion that a mayor can have at the national level is overestimated. “We think that because I am the mayor of that side, the whole country will know me. No,” he concluded.
