It is thanks to the prudent actions of three young people and the rapid deployment of the fire brigade that a fire in an empty square courtyard in the Ebelsberg district of Linz could not develop into a major fire. The young witnesses noticed the fire that broke out on the first floor of the old building around 2:30 p.m. on Monday and immediately dialed the emergency number.
For reasons that are still unknown, rubbish that had been deposited in a room caught fire. Due to the old structure, the fire threatened to spread to the roof structure. The emergency services of the Linz professional fire brigade and the Ebelsberg and Pichling volunteer fire brigades were able to prevent a major fire through their rapid action. Now it’s the fire investigators turn. The fire brigade praised the young people who reported the fire for their civil courage.
