Many visitors are expected in Eferding on the second holiday weekend. For the second time after the city’s 800th anniversary last year, the medieval festival is taking place in the Mittergraben with free admission. The “Vienna vagabonds” and other groups give an insight into life in the Middle Ages.
It starts at 11 a.m. on Friday. A varied program awaits visitors throughout the weekend with music and magic, a parade of relics, the minstrels “The cowardly servants” and a fire show on Friday and Saturday evenings. Culinary delights and authentic medieval products are available at over 15 market stalls in the medieval camp. On Sunday there is an ecumenical service on the Pfarrerwiese, at 10 a.m. a free tour with the “wild man” Hubert Krexhammer starts on the town square.
Garden fun around the castle
From Friday to Sunday (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) there is also the “Gartenlust” sales exhibition in Starhemberg Castle. Around 130 exhibitors offer plants, handicrafts, art, cuisine, lectures, music and much more. Admission: 10 euros.
