About two weeks have passed since the discovery of the large weapons finds during raids on the rocker and Nazi scene – especially in the Innviertel. Hundreds of rifles, handguns, weapon parts that could have been used to make 500 pistols, military equipment, grenade launchers, submachine guns and more were found during the 13 house searches. As reported, investigations are underway against members of the Bandidos motorcycle club. Six suspects are in custody in Ried Prison. They are being investigated for, among other things, possession of war material and offenses under the Weapons Act, re-activity in the National Socialist sense and drug-related offences. Some of the men have relevant criminal records. It is the presumption of innocence. Among the suspects is a former leading member of the neo-Nazi network Object 21, which was based in Desselbrunn, district of Vöcklabruck.
As the OÖN researched, the detention hearings against the six detainees took place in Ried on Tuesday. The confirmation came from Alois Ebner, the head and spokesman for the Ried public prosecutor’s office: “All pre-trial detention of the suspected members of the Bandidos group was extended in the presence of their lawyers for another month. One of the suspects has filed a complaint, which will now be dealt with promptly by the Linz Higher Regional Court. The others have not lodged an appeal.” In a month, the legal requirements for a renewed extension of the pre-trial detention will be reviewed again. The reason for the extension was a “danger of recurrence”, said Ebner when asked by OÖN.
