Basins are expected to normalize in spring

In parallel, according to reports from the National Water Directorate, the basins are going to start the normalization process from the spring. This was also specified by Undersecretary of the Environment, Gerardo Amarilla, who told Telemundo that during those more than two months the current quality of the OSE water will continue.

In the midst of this panorama, today he appeared before the Public Health and Social Assistance Commission of the Chamber of Deputies the Minister of Public Health, Karina Rando, where he stressed that the water supplied by OSE is drinkable. Thus, he endorsed the higher levels of sodium and chloride than normal, as well as the presence of trihalomethanes.

Rando withdrew without commenting after his speech, but it was the Deputy Milton Corbo, vice president of the Public Health Commission, who acted as spokesperson and said at a press conference that “it is very clear that Is the water drinkable because it does not harm the health of the population”. Otherwise, he specified that “the population will be informed.”
