Industrial production advanced 0.9% in May

The best performance was achieved by items such as beverages, pharmaceuticals, and cellulose, according to the latest INE report.

The Industrial production that records month by month the National Statistics Institute (INE) was located in May in 0.9% above its level of the same month last year, so that, in the annual accumulated, the increase in industrial production is a modest 0.8% compared to the same period of 2022, although it is marking a maximum for the last decades.

The sectors of the industry that had the best performance in the accumulated of the year are the industry of the drink, with an increase of almost 10%, the industry pharmaceutical, with an increase of 8.5%; the pulp industry, which had a rise of 6%; and also the production of beverage concentrates in the Cologne Free Zone, which increased almost twenty%.

Conversely, industrial sectors such as tanneries they had a fall 16%, while the industry refrigerator it fell 18.5% and industry production also plummeted Automotive, in a 25%, according to INE data.
