The trend even has its own name: tennis core. The look: as if you had just come home from the match in Wimbledon. Chic and well-groomed, but in a casual way.
Certain items of clothing such as pleated skirts, polo shirts and dresses, white sneakers and knitted sweaters, preferably with cables and a V-neck, should not be missing. Baseball caps, tennis socks and hair bands are also among the tennis core must-haves.

Fashion brands such as Lacoste, Miu Miu, Ralph Lauren (who outfit the ball boys at Wimbledon), Adidas and budget fashion chains such as H & M have long had variants in their range that are suitable for everyday use.
Classic from the tennis court
The dominant color in tennis is and remains white, but the current collections also include color – from red, green and light blue to even pink.

Another advantage of everyday tennis fashion: pants are often sewn into skirts to ensure sufficient freedom of movement. This is also useful in order not to run the risk of showing too much in a sudden gust of wind, on the bike or at a picnic.
By the way: tennis core is not entirely new. The popular sport with the little yellow ball has produced some fashion classics over the decades. Above all, the Adidas Originals Stan Smith, whose namesake wore the sneakers in 1972 when he won Wimbledon. And of course the polo shirts, which can be found in almost every wardrobe today.

Wimbledon dress code
Until July 16 ( Women’s final tomorrow, Saturday, 3 p.m., the men’s final on Sunday, 3 p.m) the third and probably most important Grand Slam tournament of the year takes place in Wimbledon. The best tennis players in the world duel on the “Holy Lawn” of the All England Club.
Nowhere else is the dress code so strictly regulated. At least 90 percent of the clothing worn must be white. This decision was made to avoid embarrassing sweat stains. Recently, players have also been allowed to wear dark underpants. As announced by the All England Club, the women’s fear of playing during the period should be taken away.
