REED. “The aim is to fill the supervisory board with people from the business world who have a great deal of specialist know-how and who feel committed to the positive development of Energie Ried and the municipality of Ried.” This sentence comes from the official lecture of the Rieder municipal council meeting on March 30th. About three and a half months ago, the “Rieder city parliament” decided to reduce the size of the supervisory board from ten to five people. The number of works council members on the supervisory board will be reduced from five to three. The aim was to depoliticize the control body of Energie Ried, according to Rieder city politics. The new supervisory board members are not allowed to hold any political mandates in Ried. But it doesn’t work entirely without politics. According to the so-called D’Hondt procedure, the parties were able to nominate people, depending on the election result.
Until the very end, the parliamentary groups negotiated with people from business, with success: the ÖVP nominated Werner Steinecker from Kirchschlag, the former general director of Energie AG. Second proposal by the ÖVP: Roland Wiesinger, Managing Director of Wiesinger Bau from Riedau. The SPÖ sent Manfred Neuböck, former FACC board member and current supervisory board member of Scheuch Holding, into the running. According to reports, the 62-year-old from Neuhofen is to become the new chairman of the supervisory board. He would succeed Lukas Oberwagner from the Greens.
The FPÖ chose the auditor Daniela Köberl from Vöcklabruck. Like Neuböck, Köberl is a member of the Supervisory Board of Scheuch Holding. Another woman on the supervisory board will be Semra Celik (24), who is an associate at the law firm Puttinger & Vogl. She was nominated by the Greens. The respective persons were confirmed in their new function in parliamentary elections on Thursday evening. There were no requests to speak.
Oberwagner resigned
Lukas Oberwagner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board since December 2021, announced to OÖN that he had announced his early resignation immediately before the start of the meeting.
