Global services exports continue to grow at a good pace in the country and reached 2,882 million pesos in 2022, which represents a level rrecord for the data of BCU, according to the government agency Uruguay XXI in his latest report.

With these data, Uruguay accumulates exports of non-traditional services of 773 dollars per capita and is only surpassed by Costa Rica in the ranking of Latin America and the Caribbean, ranking above other countries in the region.


The survey showed that, by adding the placements associated with the activities of sale of goods, for 2,827 million dollars, a total of 5.7 billion dollars.
The largest contribution came from exports of business services, which together with professional and technical services totaled 1,159 million dollars in 2022, with a rise of 8% in the year-on-year comparison. Services placements appeared further back computer with 980 million dollars, 20% more than in 2021.

Exports of global services, on the rise in the last decade
It is worth noting that in the last ten years global services gained share in the country and went from being almost 40% to represent the 53% of the total, to the detriment of traditional services.
