That’s because Mayor Klaus Luger is the only candidate for direct election. The electoral commission announced this today. According to this, only Luger announced his candidacy on time and, with 283 declarations of support, brought in a sufficient number of signatures.
Luger needs 50 percent “yes” votes
From September 23 to mid-October, around 5,500 members can vote. The highest committee of the SPÖ Linz, the district conference, meets on November 7th.
